When: 9 a.m start on Sunday, November 8th
Where: Clarion University Recreation Center
Cost: $40 entry fee to wrestle
$2 entry non-wrestler

This high school tournament is following
the Knight Point Open on Saturday November 7th.
Be sure to come early and catch great college wrestling
going on all day! Saturday’s entry fee is only $5 and is free
for Sunday’s registered wrestlers. Saturday’s wrestling starts
at 9 a.m and is also at the Recreation Center at Clarion University.

Lewistown should improve on last season's 4-17 record..like PO, they were a very young team last year with Stephen King being the only senior starter...state qualifier Colton Spade heads the group of returning starters..Dion Holland, Jake Schultz, and Tyson Searer all had at least 24 wins..Cody Hower chippped in with 17

Philipsburg-Oceola shouldbe much improved this season..last year's squad was very young with Ethen Greenawalt being the only senior starter..13 starters, led by state qualifier Nick Gurol, return (8 with double digit wins)..additional help will come from a JH team that was ranked top 20 in the state last year

Altoona, a District 6 Duals semifinalist last year, took a heavy hit to graduation..top returners for this season include state qualifier K J Walters, regional qualifier Wendell Myers, Jacob Hines, & Chris McCarthy..newcomer T J Brandt, a PJW state champion, will be the next in a string of top 103lbers for Altoona

Indian Valley's key losses are the Killer B's (Battista, Bedelyon, Boyer) and Kyle Miller...the group combined for 115 wins last season..Kaleb Loht, a state qualifier last season, heads a returning group that includes Gage Smith, Mason Grove, Nick Grimm, Jared Kreider, Nik Christine, Joe Short, & Ian Lindsey...Jake Bender, 5-0 last season, could crack the lineup fulltime

State College, under first year coach Chad Dubin, will have a host of new faces this year..all of the last year's upperweights have graduated and will need to be replaced..Scott Bosak has transferred to Kiski Area..newcomers Adam & Joe Powers have transferred in from North Allegheny..Adam, a senior, will be at 135/140..Joe, a freshman, will be at 119

District 6 AAA teams

Central Mountain, entering the final season of the Alton era, looks to be the top dog in D6 AAA again...they'll have a well balanced lineup with the only questions at 189 & 215...their middleweights (135-160) will be 'lights out' with Rich-Brill-Alton-Alton-Caprio

Bellefonte appears to have the next best team, despite losing three state qualifiers to graduation...they should have the best lightweight (103-130) group in the district with Lewis-Wert-Traxler-Port-Dreibelbis...newcomers Nick Shawley & Garrett Poorman could also crack the lineup

Bald Eagle Area, coming of a 6-8 season, could be one of the surprise teams this year..they return state medal winner Jon Gingrich, state qualifier Coleman Hoffman, regional qualifiers Justin Geidroc & Brandon Coakley, and several other starters who figure to be better..look for Jake Taylor to move from the JH into the starting lineup and produce
